As if Denver Ad students didn’t have enough on their plates.
I worked with DAD founders to develop their student award show program, implementing a new class and curriculum specifically designed to collect trophies at the Student One Show, D&AD, Communication Arts, and Radio Mercury awards.
These classes dive right into the provided award show briefs: we begin by learning how to understand award show challenges differ from a regular brief, and how to pull out the most interesting bits for inspiration. Then, students have a few short weeks to bring their best and boldest ideas. We then go through the process of writing, storyboarding, art directing, comping, editing, and polishing a case study, all by the 10 week class desdline.
This year, we achieved the #2 spot highest number of One Show finalists for an American portfolio program.
Here are a few favorite pieces created in an Art of Winning class, led by Salina Cole and I.
